Meet Dr. Manal Ibrahim

Board-Certified Orthodontist | Dual-Trained in Prosthodontics

Dr. Ibrahim came to orthodontics by an unusual route. She studied bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree there in 1993 and went on to complete an Advanced Combined Prosthodontics Certificate. She spent the first decade of her career in prosthetic, implant, and restorative dentistry, treating adults with complex reconstructive needs. She also taught and did research at UIC and led clinical affairs for a global dental manufacturer. She later completed specialty training at New York University College of Dentistry, earning her Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. She became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 2013.

That dual training shapes how she treats every patient. She plans each case with the end in mind, whether she uses braces or clear aligners. She looks at the bite, the smile, the face, and the airway, and at how each will change as the patient ages. She has extensive experience with braces and aligners in highly complex cases. Because she has trained in more than one specialty, she works closely with oral surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists, restorative dentists, and other specialists. She coordinates each patient’s care so the final result is complete and lasting.

Dr. Ibrahim has treated more than 6,000 patients with Invisalign. She is a global Top 1% Sapphire Level Provider and the #1 Invisalign orthodontist provider in Illinois. She works closely with Align Technology as a North American faculty member, a member of its Orthodontic Clinical Advisory Board, and a contributor to product development and pilot studies. She is also an Invisalign mentor in the Align Orthodontist Network, where she guides other Invisalign orthodontists through complex cases. She has given more than 100 lectures, continuing education courses, webinars, and hands-on programs, reaching audiences in more than 15 countries. Her talks cover complex clear-aligner care, non-surgical Class III correction, growth guidance, and multidisciplinary treatment. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at UIC. She founded Sensational Orthodontics and Sensational Ortho Mastery, where she mentors orthodontists and dental professionals.
